Men's Basketball Torches Nets in 90-47 Win over Lycoming

Center Valley, PA (January 28, 2023) - The DeSales University men's basketball team shot 54.4 percent from the field and hit 13 three-pointers in a 90-47 route of Lycoming College in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon in Billera Hall to become the first team to clinch a spot in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament.

How it Happened
  • After the two teams exchanged baskets to start the game, DeSales took control with a 13-2 run to take an early 15-4 lead.
  • Lycoming stayed within eight points at the 10:32 mark of the opening but DeSales blew it open from there finishing the half on a 27-11 spurt, racing into the locker room with a 47-23 halftime lead.
  • DSU shot 59.4 percent from the field in the opening half and hit 7-for-10 from outside the arc.
  • The Bulldogs never looked back in the second-half increasing its lead to 38 points with a 21-7 run over the first 10 minutes of the second half before the lead peaked at 45 with 28 seconds left in the game.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • First-year Nate Ellis led DeSales with a game-high 22 points, hitting a perfect 6-for-6 outside the arc.
  • Senior Jordan Holmqvist added 14 points, nailing three 3's.
  • Junior Elijah Eberly had 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds.


For the Foes
  • Dyson Harward was the lone Warrior in double digits with 10 points and added seven rebounds.
Inside the Box Score
  • The Bulldogs held Lycoming to just 31.3 percent shooting for the game.
  • DSU out-rebounded LC, 45-32.
  • DeSales had a 52-26 advantage in bench scoring and scored 18 points off 13 Warrior turnovers.
