Late Goals by Trocki and Benner Lift Field Hockey over Arcadia, 2-1

Glenside, PA (October 11, 2023) - Senior Maddie Trocki tied it and sophomore Morgan Benner won it with two goals in the fourth quarter leading the DeSales University field hockey team past Arcadia University, 2-1, in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening.

  • This was DSU's third straight win over Arcadia giving the Bulldogs a 9-8 lead in the all-time series.
  • The Bulldogs have now won 13 straight games in MAC Freedom play dating back to the end of the 2021 season.
How it Happened
  • Arcadia took a 1-0 lead 9:37 into the game and that lead stood into the half.
  • Neither team found the back of the cage in the third quarter as the score remained 1-0 heading into the fourth quarter.
  • With just under eight minutes left Trocki tied the game scoring on a reverse stick shot at 52:01.
  • DeSales kept the pressure on and earned a corner with just over two minutes left.
  • On the corner junior Delani Remp sent a shot towards the goalkeeper and Benner was there to re-direct the shot into the net for the eventual game-winner.
