Field Hockey Win Streak Snapped at Six in 3-0 Loss to Stevens

Center Valley, PA (Ocgtober 28, 2023) - The DeSales University field hockey team saw its six-game winning streak come to an end falling to Stevens, 3-0, in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon in the regular season finale on senior day.

  • Records: DeSales (8-8, 6-1 MAC Freedom), Stevens (15-2, 7-0 MAC Freedom)
  • The loss not only snaps a six-game winning streak this season but also DSU's 17-game MAC Freedom winning streak dating back to the 2021 season.
  • The Bulldogs finish the regular season as the #2 seed in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament which will begin on Wednesday when DSU will host #3 Lebanon Valley College at 6:00 pm.
  • DSU falls to 6-2 all-time vs. the Ducks with the loss.
How it Happened
  • After a scoreless first quarter, Stevens dominated play in the second quarter taking all nine shots of the quarter, scoring twice to take a 2-0 halftime lead.
  • The Bulldogs were the aggressor in the third quarter out-shooting Stevens, 3-0, but were unable to find the cage with a shot.
  • The Ducks got another on the fourth to make it a three-goal game, providing the final tally.

  • Senior Kayla Yeatman made seven saves for the Bulldogs in the loss.

  • Emily Smart, Sarah Korczukowski, and Lynda Farinella scores Stevens three goals.
  • Farinella and Smart each had assists.
