Reese Season-High 26 Lead DeSales Past Moravian, 72-54

Bethlehem, PA (November 21, 2023) - Senior Mikaela Reese poured in a season-high 26 points leading the DeSales University women's basketball team past local rival Moravian University, 72-54, in non-conference action on Tuesday evening.

The Basics

  • Records: DeSales (3-1 Overall); Moravian (0-4 Overall)
  • This was the 48th career meeting between the two teams with DSU now holding a 28-20 lead in the all-time series after its fifth straight win in the series.
How it Happened
  • The first quarter was tight the entire way with the Bulldogs leading by as many as six points a few times before taking a 23-18 lead on a lay-up with one second left to end the quarter.
  • The lead was six with 3:49 to go in the half when DeSales finished the half on a 10-2 run to take a 14-point advantage into the locker room (42-28).
  • DSU led by as many as 19 points in the third quarter before settling for the same 14-point advantage after three quarters and cruised in the fourth quarter leading by as many as 20 points.

  • Reese was 10-for-15 from the field, adding six steals and three blocks.
  • Senior Megan Bealer was also in double figures with 17 points, adding five boards and four steals.
  • Senior Olivia Scotti had a season-high 11 boards and senior Amelia Saunders came off the bench with eight points.
  • Senior Lindsey Welsh had seven points, six helpers, and three blocks, while sophomore Mikaili Donmoyer finished with seven points.
For the Foes
  • Sam Osorio was the lone double digit scorer with 16 points for the Greyhounds.
