Georgetown, TX (March 6, 2023) - The DeSales University baseball team dropped its third game of its spring trip to Texas, 8-0, at Southwestern University on Monday evening.
The Bulldogs were blanked for the second straight game at the plate. DSU had two runners in scoring position in the first inning but were unable to push them home as Southwestern scored in the bottom half of the inning.
SW scored two unearned runs in the sixth inning to take a 3-0 lead and broke the game open with five runs in the eighth inning.
DSU had seven hits, just one less than SW's eight hits. SophomoreÂ
Patrick Kusters and seniorÂ
Joe Grigas IVÂ both had two hits.
JuniorÂ
Jared Drake pitched well despite taking the loss allowing just one earned run over 5 2/3 innings, striking out five.
The Bulldogs are right back at it on Tuesday when they take on Texas Lutheran University.
