Center Valley, PA (April 3, 2023) - The DeSales University baseball team snapped its three-game losing skid dominating Montclair State University, 13-5, in non-conference action on Monday evening at Weiland Park.

The Bulldogs dominated this one from the very start scoring seven times in the first inning including a two-RBI single from first-year Carson Allison and a three-run home run from junior Gavin Zavorski.  Sophomore Justin DeStaso hit two-run homer in the third inning making it a 9-0 game and the Bulldogs added another run in the sixth and three more in the seventh.

The Red Hawks got five runs in the top of the ninth inning after DSU had taken a 13-0 lead.

Allison finished with two hits and three RBIs, and junior Zachary Zuchowski had three hits, first-year Andrew McGowan totaled two hits, and DeStaso was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs.

Four pitchers including senior Nicholas Millets, junior Ryan Whitaker, senior Michael Pierce, and senior JJ Paul combined to pitch eight scoreless innings allowing just four hits before the ninth inning rally by MSU. Millets earned the win.

DSU is back in action tomorrow when they travel to Misericordia University for games two and three of the three game-set with first pitch set for 2:00 pm.
