Men's Lacrosse Falls to #20 Stevens, 26-15, in MAC Freedom Final

Hoboken, NJ (May 6, 2023) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse team saw its season come to an end in a 26-15 loss at #20 Stevens in the MAC Freedom Championship game on Saturday evening.

The Basics

  • The Bulldogs see its season come to an end with a 10-8 record as DSU posts its seccond straight 10-win season and just the third season in program history with 10 or more wins.

How it Happened
  • The Bulldogs scored the first goal of the game and tied the game at two early on a goal from junior Colin Adams at the 10:09 mark of the first quarter.
  • Stevens finished the quarter scoring five straight to take a 7-2 lead.
  • DSU scored the first two goals of the second quarter to make it a 7-4 game but the Ducks scored five straight yet again and led 12-5 at the half.
  • Adams scored again to start the second-half to make it 12-6, but Stevens put the game away with 11 straight goals to lead 23-6 and never looked back from there.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Junior TJ Herron led the Bulldogs with three goals and four assists.
  • Adams added three goals and two assists giving him 38 goals and 38 assists on the season for 76 points which sets a new single-season record for both assists and points in a season.
  • Senior Domenic Maria had three goals and sophomore Nate Perry scored twice.
  • Junior Chase Bowman had two goals and an assist and sophomore Jake Fratarcangeli added four assists.
  • Senior Zach Broomall was 13-for-31 in face-offs with 10 ground balls.
  • Junior Quinten Lyons had 19 saves.
For the Foes
  • Kevin Crowley had six goals and an assist.
  • Matthew Pergola added five goals and an assist and Jack Savarese finished with two goals and three assists.
