Dallas, PA (May 7, 2023) - The DeSales University baseball team saw its season come to an end with a 13-5 loss at Misericordia in game two of the MAC Freedom Postseason semifinal series on Sunday afternoon.
The Bulldogs finish the year with a 22-19 overall record. It is DSU's 23rd straight season (minus the COVID season) with 20+ wins.
After the Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, DSU scored four times in the top of the second thanks in part to an RBI single from juniorÂ
Gavin Zavorski and an RBI double from first-yearÂ
JT Anderosky giving DeSales a 4-1 lead.
MU had the answer scoring four times in the bottom half of the inning to reclaim a 5-4 lead and added four more runs in the bottom of the third to take a 9-4 lead.
DSU got a run back in the top of the fourth to make it 9-5 on a sacrifice fly from Zavorksi but that was all the Bulldogs could manage on the offensive end before the Cougars added four more to post the final tally.
SophomoreÂ
Justin DeStaso and first-yearÂ
Carson Allison each had two hits to lead the offensive attack.
