Women's Soccer Falls Short at St. Lawrence, 2-1

Canton, NY (September 2, 2023) - The DeSales University women's soccer team fell behind 2-0 and was unable to come back falling at St. Lawrence University, 2-1, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics

  • This was the first career meeting between DeSales and St. Lawrence.
How it Happened
  • St. Lawrence opened up the scoring quickly with a goal in the 7th minute off the foot of Emma Casey.
  • Kiki D'Anza scored in the 43rd minute to give the Saints a 2-0 lead heading into the half. 
  • The Bulldogs cut the deficit in half in the 85th minute as first-year student Catherine Crampton connected on a header off a centering pass from senior Elizabeth McCarthy on a free kick from the endline.

  • Emma Casey led the Saints in shots with three, two on goal. 
  • Keely Snode had six saves in goal for St. Lawrence.
