Center Valley, PA (September 25, 2023) - The DeSales University athletic department inducted six new members into the Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday evening to kickoff off Homecoming weekend on campus.
Inductees included:
Kerri (Andrews) Williams '11, Mike Halamar '00, Donna (Luft) Noll '91, Gina (Malatesta) Meehl '06, Courtney McClurkin '08, Nolan Neiman '05. Each inductee made an everlasting impression on DeSales University athletics and will join the 88 current members and eight other teams who were recognized in previous years. You can view a small bio on each Hall of Famer here -Â

Kerri (Andrews) Williams was a standout on both the volleyball and softball teams at DeSales from 2006-10. She was an All-Conference performer in both sports during her time as a Bulldog. In volleyball she helped DSU post a 74-53 record in her four years winning one MAC Freedom Championship and advancing to the NCAA Tournament in 2007. Williams was named All-MAC Freedom Second-Team twice and still ranks among the all-time leaders in digs (2,098 – 3
rd) and service aces (152 – 12
th). She also owns the second most digs recorded in a season with 657 in 2007.
As a softball player Williams was equally as dominant helping DSU post a 98-67 record in her four years winning the 2008 MAC Freedom Championship as well as the 2010 ECAC Championship and making one appearance in the NCAA Tournament. She was named All-MAC Freedom Second-Team once and First-Team once and was also ECAC All-Region Second-Team and NFCA All-Region Third-Team in 2010. Williams ranks second all-time in runs scored (112), third in hits (171), second in doubles (39), third in walks (56), and second in assists (316). She holds the single-season record for hits (66) and runs scored (46) in 2010 and has the third most doubles in a season with 17 in 2010. She was named the Dr. John Compardo Female Athlete of the Year in 2010.
Mike Halamar was a standout on the men's soccer team from 1996-99. Halamar was named All-Conference honors three times in his career including All-PAC First-Team in 1996, All-MAC Freedom Second-Team in 1998, and All-MAC Freedom First-Team in 1999. In 1997 he was named the MVP of the John Makuvek Tournament at Moravian University. He continues to rank among the all-time leaders in several offensive categories including seventh all-time in goals scored (36), tied for 14
th all-time in assists (16), and seventh all-time in points (88) appearing in 74 games during his career.
Donna (Luft) Noll was a standout on the women's basketball team from 1987-91. During her time DSU posted a 93-23 record making two appearances in the NCAA Tournament and winning two ESAC Championships. Noll earned PAIAW First-Team honors, ECAC First-Team honors, All-Region (District 4) First-Team honors, and was named a WBCA Honorable-Mention All-American as a senior in 1991. In addition she was honored as the Dr. John Compardo Female Athlete of the Year in 1991. She is still among the all-time leaders in several statistical categories including 25
th all-time in scoring (1,034 points), 14
th all-time in steals (194), and 27
th all-time in rebounds (458). Noll also has the third most steals in a season with 105 in 1991.
Gina (Malatesta) Meehl was a standout on the field hockey team at DeSales for the program's first two seasons in 2004 and 2005. Meehl was part of the first two teams in DSU field hockey history helping the Bulldogs start the program during her junior year. She finished her two-year career with 33 goals and three assists for 69 points, which still ranks eighth all-time, in just two seasons played. Meehl was named All-MAC Freedom First-Team as a senior in 2005 and was also named to the MAC All-Century Team.
Courtney McClurkin was a standout on the women's tennis from 2004-08. She is one of the most decorated women's tennis players in DeSales history posting a career singles record of 65-8 and career doubles record of 60-11. McClurkin was a key member of the 2005 women's tennis team that won the program's first and only MAC Freedom Championship and is also a three-time MAC Individual Tournament Champion winning the #3 singles flight in 2004, #1 singles flight in 2007, and #2 doubles flight with Mary Kate McElvaney in 2005. McClurkin was named All-MAC Freedom four times including Second-Team in 2004 and First-Team in 2005, 2006, and 2007. She earned MAC Freedom Player of the Year honors in 2007 and was also named the LVAIAW Women's Tennis Player of the Year in 2007-08. She is the all-time leader in both singles victories and double victories and also has the most doubles victories with one partner (Mary Kate McElvaney) with 51.
Nolan Neiman was a standout player on the baseball team from 2002-05 who during his time at DeSales served as the DSU SAAC president for three years in 2003-05 and the MAC SAAC president for two years in 2004-05. Neiman helped the Bulldogs win four MAC Freedom Championships, advance to the NCAA Tournament four times, win one NCAA Regional Championship in 2003, and advance to the NCAA Division III College World Series also in 2003. DSU posted a 125-49 record in Neiman's four years. He still ranks among the all-time leaders in several statistical categories including 21
st in batting average (.350), 11
th in runs scored (131), 20
th in hits (154), third in walks (87), 11
th in on-base percentage (.465), and eighth in assists (284). Neiman earned All-MAC honors three times including Second-Team in 2003 and First-Team in 2004 and 2005. He was the MAC Freedom Player of the Year in 2004, earned ABCA All-Region Third-Team honors three times, and was ECAC All-Region Second-Team in 2004.
