Men's Soccer Opens Conference Play with 3-0 Win over Delaware Valley

Center Valley, PA (September 30, 2023) - The DeSales University men's soccer team opened MAC Freedom play with a 3-0 win over Delaware Valley University on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics
  • Final Score: DeSales - 3, Delaware Valley - 0
  • Records: DeSales (4-2-1, 1-0 MAC Freedom); Delaware Valley (3-4-1, 0-1 MAC Freedom)
  • This was DeSales' 21st straight win over the Aggies and improves its all-time record vs. DVU to 28-6-2. 
How it Happened
  • Neither team found the back of the net in the first-half as the shots were near even at 5-4, in favor of the Aggies.
  • DeSales broke thru in the 59th minute when sophomore Liam MacDonald scored into a wide open net off a terrific feed from sophomore Kevin Krall.
  • Krall once again orchestrated the insurance goal in the 80th minute centering a pass to first-year Steven Berrodin and senior Elek McDonald scored on a free kick in the 82nd minute to post the final tally.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Krall had two assists in the win giving him a team-high five on the season.
  • MacDonald and Berrodin scored their third goals of the season, while McDonald netted his first.
  • Sophomore Conner Zimmerman played well in goal making his first start of the year tallying three saves to record the shutout.
For the Foes
  • Liam Morris had three saves for the Aggies.

  • DeSales had a 15-7 advantage in shots, 11-2, in the second-half.
