Field Hockey Erased Two-Goal Deficit in 3-2 Comeback Win at Lebanon Valley

Annville, PA (October 23, 2024) - The DeSales University field hockey team erased a two-goal halftime deficit scoring three unanswered goals in the second-half to post an important 3-2 win over Lebanon Valley College in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening.

  • Final Score: DeSales - 3, Lebanon Valley - 2
  • Records: DeSales (6-9, 2-2 MAC Freedom), Lebanon Valley (13-2, 3-1 MAC Freedom)
  • The win hands LVC just its second loss of the season and their first in the MAC Freedom.
  • This is DSU's third straight win over the Flying Dutchmen improving the Bulldogs to 3-7 all-time vs. LVC.
How it Happened
  • LVC scored once in both the first and second quarters to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.
  • Senior Maddie Trocki got DSU on the board taking a pass up the right side of the field by junior Brooke Sodl to score her 10th goal of the season.
  • Junior Nikki Chiaradia tied the game just 3:02 later tipping in a centering pass from fellow junior Jordyne Stong.
  • Sodl and Trocki connected again in the 51st minute with Sodl scoring this time pushing home a pass in front of the goal by Trocki.

  • Trocki tallies goal #53 in her career.
  • Sodl, Stong, and Trocki all had assists in the win.
  • Sophomore Alyssa Schlossman was sensational in goal making 17 saves.

  • Claire Weidenhammer scored both LVC goals.

  • LVC had a 25-11 advantage in shots, 19-8 in shots on goal.
  • The Flying Dutchmen also had a 10-3 advantage in penalty corners.
