Field Hockey Drops High Scoring Affair (5-4) at Marywood

Scranton, PA (October 5, 2024) - The DeSales University field hockey team dropped a high scoring 5-4 non-conference game on Saturday afternoon at Marywood University.

The Basics

  • Records: DeSales (3-7 overall), Marywood (7-4 overall)
  • This is DSU's second straight loss to the Pacers falling to 9-4 all-time vs. Marywood.
How it Happened
  • Marywood scored two goals in the first 3:31 of the game to take a 2-0 lead.
  • Senior Angelina Day got a goal back off an assist from senior Maddie Trocki at the 6:29 mark of the first quarter.
  • The Pacers answered with two more goals, taking a 4-1 lead, mid-way thru the second quarter.
  • The Bulldogs had the answer scoring three times in the span of 4:31 to tie the game at four heading into halftime.
  • The second-half was much omre defensive as Marywood scored 7:11 into the third quarter and that goal stood up for the 5-4 Marywood win.

  • Trocki and senior Delani Remp each finished with one goal and one assist in the loss.
  • Junior Jordyne Stong and Day each scored once.
  • Sophomore Alyssa Schlossman had 17 saves for the Bulldogs.

For the Foes
  • Cydney Lahr scored four goals for Marywood.
  • Maria Tomada also scored.
