Center Valley, PA (November 13, 2024) - The DeSales University volleyball team saw its season come to an end falling to Misericordia University, 3-0, in the MAC Freedom semifinals on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.
The Bulldogs season ends with a 14-17 overall record, while the Cougars advance to the MAC Freedom championship game on Saturday vs. Stevens.
This match was tight throughout every set. In the first set, DSU led led 18-16 after rallying back from an 11-4 deficit, but MU scored nine of the final 11 points to take a 1-0 lead, 25-20.
In the second set the score was tied at 21 when the Cougars scored four straight points to close out the set with a 25-21 win and a 2-0 lead. DeSales led by three several different times to start the third set and for the last time at 16-13, when Misericordia rallied scoring five straight points to take an 18-16 lead and closed out the match scoring five of the last six points to win 25-19.

Samantha Worontzoff added five kills, hitting .410.
