Center Valley, PA (February 3, 2024) - The #22 DeSales University men's basketball team won its school-record 16th straight game clinching a spot in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament with a 74-47 win over FDU-Florham in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened

• Both teams started slowly on the offensive end as the Bulldogs slowing built an 11-1 lead over the first 5:35 of the game.
• The Devils cut the margin down to as little as five points before DSU reclaimed a 10-point advantage and settled for a 31-22 lead at the halftime break.
• The lead was 13 at the 15 minute mark of the second-half when the Bulldogs put the game away with an 18-3 run over the span of 5:23 to build a 28-point lead (57-29).
• Senior Jordan Holmqvist led the charge scoring nine of the 18 points on three 3's and DSU cruised over the final 10 minutes.

• Holmqvist led all scorers with 15 points, hitting 5-for-6 from deep.
• Junior Caleb Gibbs recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
• Senior Elijah Eberly was also in double digits with 12 points and six rebounds off the bench.
• Senior Mason Barnes filled up the stat sheet with six points, five rebounds, eight assists, and five steals in the win.

• Christopher Smith led the Devils with eight points.
