Men's Lacrosse Falls at Cabrini, 15-6

Radnor, PA (March 27, 2024) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse team fell at Cabrini University, 15-6, in non-conference action on a rainy Wednesday evening in non-conference action.

The Basics
  • Final Score: Cabrini - 15, DeSales - 6
  • Records: DeSales (4-5 Overall); Cabrini (7-3 Overall)
  • It is DSU's sixth straight loss to Cabrini falling to 1-7 all-time vs. the Cavaliers.
How it Happened
  • After trading goals to start the game, Cabrini scored four straight to close the first quarter and open the second quarter to take a 5-1 lead.
  • DSU got within three (6-3) with the first goal of the third quarter, but the Cavaliers out-scored the Bulldogs 5-2 over the final 12:47 of the quarter to take an 11-5 lead into the final quarter.
  • First-year Griffin Adams scored to start the fourth quarter but Cabrini held the Bulldogs scoreless the rest of the way posting the final tally.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Adams, sophomore Mark Winkler Jr., junior Jake Fratarcangeli, junior Nate Perry, and first-year DJ Verkade all scored goals.
  • Junior Anthony Gash also scored and won 12-of-24 faceoffs, picking up five ground balls.
  • Graduate student Liam Lacon returned to the lineup causing three turnovers and picking up five ground balls on the defensive end.
  • Senior TJ Lowe had 10 saves in between the pipes.
For the Foes
  • Connor Herraiz had five goals and one assist.
  • Dillon McManus totaled four goals and four assists.
Inside the Box Score
  • Cabrini out-shot DeSales, 44-40, but had a healthy advantage in ground balls, 40-28.
  • The Bulldogs committed 23 turnovers.
