Glenside, PA (April 22, 2024) - The DeSales University men's tennis clinched a spot in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament with an 8-1 win over Arcadia University in MAC Freedom action on Monday afternoon.
The Bulldogs improve to 10-4 overall and 4-1 in the MAC Freedom. It is the third time in team history DSU has won 10+ games and moves DSU one win shy of tying the single season record of 11, accomplished twice in team history.
Doubles
DSU swept all three doubles matches as seniorÂ
Philip Ritchie teamed with first-yearÂ
Jatin Prabhakar to win 8-3 in the No. 1 spot, seniorÂ
Augie Citrone joined sophomore
Reece Stein to win 8-6 in the second position, and juniorÂ
Brent Holzman teamed up with first-yearÂ
Christopher Gomez to win 8-6 in the third flight.
Singles
Ritchie was a 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (11-9) winner in the No. 1 spot, Citrone won 6-4, 6-4 in the second flight, and Prabhakar posted a 6-3, 7-5 win in the third position. Holzman won 6-2, 6-2 in the fifth flight and Stein was a 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) winner in the sixth spot.
DSU wraps up the regular season traveling to Lebanon Valley College on Wednesday. A win would clinch the #2 seed in next week's MAC Freedom postseason tournament.
