Wilkes-Barre, PA (April 26, 2024) - The DeSales University baseball team surrendered a one-run lead late falling at King's College, 6-4, in MAC Freedom action on Friday afternoon.
The loss moves the Bulldogs to 8-11 in the MAC Freedom heading into the final week of the regular season. DSU needs to sweep King's on Saturday at home and hope that Lebanon Valley drops two to Arcadia University. If that happens DSU and LVC will be tied and DSU owns the tiebreaker and will earn the #4 seed in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament.
DSU took a 2-0 lead in this one with runs in the second and third innings. JuniorÂ
Justin DeStaso had an RBI single in the second and juniorÂ
Owen Fischl an RBI single in the third.
King's took a 3-2 lead in the fifth but the Bulldogs got an RBI single from first-yearÂ
Ty Akins in the sixth and a sacrifice fly from first-yearÂ
Jeremy Stranix in the seventh to reclaim a 4-3 lead.
The Monarchs tied the game with a solo home run in the eighth and won the game in walkoff fashion in the ninth.

Travis Kerr each had two hits in the loss.
