Wilkes-Barre, PA (April 27, 2024) - The DeSales University softball team swept King's College in the final regular season MAC Freedom doubleheader to clinch the #3 seed in next weekend's MAC Freedom Championship Tournament.
DSU has now won four straight and improves to 26-10 overall and 9-5 in the MAC Freedom. The Bulldogs advanced to the MAC Freedom Tournament for the first time since the 2021 season. The sweep also snaps a seven-game losing streak to King's.
Game One (W/4-3)
DSU scored runs in each of the last four innings to earn the win in game one.

Ava Goodman had an RBI single in the fourth, juniorÂ
Tori Kenney homered in the fifth, and first-yearÂ
Kiara Castera singled home seniorÂ
Victoria Agnoli in the seventh.
JuniorÂ
Rachel Lowry earned her 15th win of the season allowing just two earned over seven innings, striking out eight.
Agnoli had three hits and Kenney had two hits to lead the offense.
Game Two (W/6-1)
DeSales broke a tie at one with three runs in the top of the third inning to take a 4-1 lead and added two more runs in the sixth.

Alanna Hartzell earned her eighth win of the year scattering four hits over seven innings, striking out three.
SophomoreÂ
Morgan Benner had two hits and two runs scored, first-yearÂ
Paige Hromin totaled three hits and had two RBIs, and Kenney also knocked in two runs in the game two win.
The MAC Freedom tournament begins on Thursday and will be hosted at top seed, Lebanon Valley College, with times to be announced.
