Women's Lacrosse Season Ends with 15-12 Loss to Arcadia

Center Valley, PA (April 27, 2024) - The DeSales University women's lacrosse team saw its season come to an end with a 15-12 loss to Arcadia University in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics
  • Final Score: Arcadia - 15, DeSales - 12
  • Records: DeSales (10-6, 3-4 MAC Freedom); Arcadia (9-8, 4-3 MAC Freedom)
  • The Bulldogs fall to 2-2 all-time vs. the Knights.
  • DSU finishes the season just one game out of the MAC Freedom playoff race finishing in 5th place.
How it Happened
  • Arcadia started quickly in this one scoring five of the first six goals to take a 5-1 lead and led 6-3 after one quarter of play.
  • The lead grew to as many as 9-3 before the Bulldogs closed the half with two straight goals to get within four (9-5).
  • The momentum carried over into the second-half as DSU scored four of the first five goals in the second-half to pull within one goal (10-9).
  • It remained a one goal game until Arcadia scored with 19 seconds left in the third quarter to lead 13-11.
  • Arcadia scored first in the fourth to take a 14-11 lead and the Bulldogs were never able to get any closer than two goals the rest of the way.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Sophomore Hailey Linebaugh led the scoring attack with three goals and three assists.
  • Junior Meagan Landers added two goals and an assist and senior Hayley Petrosini had two goals.
  • Sophomore Christina DiGuglielmo had a goal and an asssist to reach 100 points in her career.
  • Junior Jess Brey scored one goal to tie the single-season goals record and set a new single-season mark with 75 points.
  • Sophomore Emma Williamson had a team-high six ground balls.

  • Morganne Dee led the Knights with seven goals and two assists.
