Center Valley, PA (September 11, 2024) - Junior Joseph Reteneller scored on a penalty kick in the 27th minute giving the DeSales University men's soccer team a thrilling 1-0 win over local rival Muhlenberg College on Wednesday afternoon.

How it Happened

• In the 27th minute, Muhlenberg's Sam Roberts committed a handball foul in the box and Reteneller later capitalized on the PK opportunity to give the Bulldogs the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead heading into the break in an evenly matched first half of play. 
• Both teams battled it out in the second half but the Bulldogs defense held its own against the Mules with first-year student Jimmy Shensky making three big saves in the second half to propel DSU to the 1-0 shutout win.

• Reteneller scored his third goal of the season.
• Shensky was perfect in goal making seven saves and recorded the shutout win for the Bulldogs.

• Aidan Niggeman made two saves in goal for the Mules.
