Women's Soccer Snaps Three-Game Losing Skid with 4-0 Win over CCNY

Center Valley, PA (September 28, 2024) - The DeSales University women's soccer team snapped its three-game losing skid with a 4-0 win over CCNY on Homecoming Saturday afternoon.

The Basics
  • Final Score: DeSales - 4, CCNY - 0
  • Records: DeSales (3-6-1 overall); CCNY (1-6 overall)
  • This was the first-ever meeting between the two teams. 
How it Happened
  • DeSales dominated play throughout scoring one goal in the first-half to take a 1-0 halftime lead and piling on three goals in the second-half to earn the win.
  • First-year Rebecca Bury got the scoring started in the opening half.
  • Sophomore Lexi Wells and seniors Emma Ribeiro and Molly McMahon all scored in the second-half. 
Top Bulldog Performers
  • First-year Saige Santa Cruz earned her first career shutout in the win.
  • It was Ribeiro's fifth goal of the season.
  • Bury, Wells, and McMahon all scored their first goals of the season.
  • Sophomore Catherine Crampton had two assists on the four goals.

  • Laila Issa made 12 saves in goal.
