Men's Basketball Falls at Stevens, 92-52

Hoboken, NJ (January 22, 2025) - The DeSales University men's basketball team fell at Stevens, 92-52, in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening.

The Basics

  • Records: DeSales (8-8, 2-3 MAC Freedom); Stevens (13-3, 5-0 MAC Freedom)
  • The Ducks win their second straight in the series but the Bulldogs still lead the all-time series with a 10-4 record.
How it Happened
  • DSU trailed by six early (12-6) when they used a 14-4 run to take a 20-16 lead at the 9:36 mark of the first-half led by seven points from senior Caleb Gibbs.
  • After Gibbs gave the Bulldogs a one point lead (22-21) at the 8:10 mark, Stevens took control finishing the half on a 20-2 run to lead 41-24 at the break.
  • The second-half was all Ducks as the lead never fell below 14 points before the final was posted.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Gibbs was the lone Bulldog in double digits scoring 15 points.
  • First-year Jayden Thomas had a team-high six assists and eight rebounds.
For the Foes
  • Jack Spellman had a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds.
  • Kyle Maddison finished with 19 points and Matt Leming had 17 points off the bench.
Inside the Box Score
  • DeSales shot just 37.5 percent from the field, while the Ducks converted 50 percent for the game.
  • DSU committed 22 turnovers which led to 32 points for Stevens.
