Cardinale's Late Tally Give Men's Soccer a 2-2 Draw with Lebanon Valley

Center Valley, PA (October 22, 2025) - Sophomore Peter Cardinale scored with just 4:05 left in the game helping the DeSales University men's soccer team earn a 2-2 draw with Lebanon Valley College in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday afternoon.

  • Final Score: DeSales - 2, Lebanon Valley - 2
  • Records: DeSales (3-9-3, 0-2-2 MAC Freedom); Lebanon Valley (7-2-6, 1-0-3 MAC Freedom)
  • DSU moves to 21-11-4 all-time vs. the Flying Dutchmen.
How it Happened
  • DeSales was the aggressor early in this one as senior Liam MacDonald gave DSU a 1-0 lead just 3:41 into the game heading home a centering pass from sophomore Jack Lamborne.
  • DSU threatened several more times in the first-half but was never able to get another tally and LVC stole a game late with less than two minutes left as a turnover in the box led to a wide open net tying the score at one.
  • LVC took the lead just 3:20 into the second half when Nathan Prex scored on a rebound off the crossbar.
  • The Bulldogs kept the pressure on throughout the second half and finally got the tying marker when sophomore Jimmy Shensky sent a ball into the box that first-year Isaac Bustamante headed back to Cardinale for a one-timer into the right corner of the net to tie the game.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • MacDonald now has 11 goals on the season and Cardinale tallied his second of the year.
  • Shensky, Bustamante, and Lamborne all recorded their first assists of the season.
  • Shensky made seven saves in the draw.
For the Foes
  • Nathan Prex scored both LVC goals.
  • Ryan Simonette had 10 saves for the Flying Dutchmen.

  • DeSales had a 17-14 advantage in shots, 12-9 edge in shots on goal.
