Volleyball Win Streak Snapped at Five in 3-1 Loss to Misericordia

Center Valley, PA (October 28, 2025) - The DeSales University volleyball team saw its five-match win streak come to an end in a tough 3-1 loss to Misericordia University in MAC Freedom action on Tuesday evening.

The Bulldogs fall into a tie for third place in the MAC Freedom with the loss with Lebanon Valley College, but can clinch the #3 seed in the postseason tournament with a win next week over FDU-Florham.

The Cougars came out on fire in the first two sets hitting .500 and .438 in the first two sets to take a 2-0 lead with identical 25-18 wins.

DeSales rallied taking a 7-1 lead in the third set. DSU continued to lead 16-11. The Cougars scored six straight points to take a 17-16 lead and the score was eventually tied at 19 when the Bulldogs scored three straight to take a 22-19 lead.  MU countered with three straight to tie the scored at 22, but kills from sophomore Allison Reimer and junior Jocelyn Castro made it 24-23 and Reimer finished it off with another kill two points later to give DSU a 25-23 win.

The fourth set saw MU take an 8-2 lead but DSU battled back to tie the set at 13. MU took a 17-13 and DeSales refused to go away getting within one (19-18). Trailing 24-21, the Bulldogs scored three straight points to tie the score at 24 but MU got two straight points to finish off the match, 26-24.

Reimer and sophomore Brooke Signorella each had 10 kills to lead the Bulldogs. First-year Haylee Arnold added eight kills and sophomore Maddie Sandt had six kills.

Sophomore Kylie Campbell finished with 13 digs and sophomore Ashlyn Dinan added 19 assists and 11 digs.

DSU is back in action on Thursday hosting Albright College in a non-conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
