Field Hockey Clinches #3 Seed in MAC Freedom Tournament after 3-2 Win over Lebanon Valley

Center Valley, PA (October 29, 2025) - The DeSales University field hockey team clinched the #3 seed in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament after a 3-2 win over Lebanon Valley College in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening.

The Basics

  • Final Score: DeSales - 3, Lebanon Valley - 2
  • Records: DeSales (8-9, 4-2 MAC Freedom), Lebanon Valley (10-7, 4-2 MAC Freedom)
  • This marks the fourth straight season and the 10th appearance in the MAC Freedom postseasont tournament for the Bulldogs.
  • This is DSU's fourth straight win over the Flying Dutchmen improving the Bulldogs to 4-7 all-time vs. LVC.
How it Happened
  • The game was back and forth at the beginning of the first quarter, both teams having even control of the ball.
  • DeSales first goal was scored off of a corner late in the first period where sophomore Abigail Antipas sent the corner pass over to junior Alina Culver who blasted the ball into the corner of the cage.
  • The second goal for the Bulldogs was scored with 51 seconds left in the second period when senior Stephanie Pallante and assisted by junior Mia Carder.
  • The Flying Dutchmen attacked early in the third period with a goal, after some action in front of the net when Jillian Tate was able to score.
  • In response to the Lebanon Valley goal, Brynn Balliet sent a crossing pass in front of the LVC cage and Pallante scored her second of the game to regain a two-goal lead.
  • Lebanon Valley then responded with a goal off a corner, scored by sophomore Lauren Foster, but the Bulldogs were able to hold off the Flying Dutchmen in the fourth quarter to take home the win.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Pallante now has seven goals on the season after scoring twice on Wednesday.
  • Culver scored her second marker of the year.
  • Antipas, Carder, and Balliet all had assists in the win.
  • Junior Alyssa Schlossman made eight saves in the win.
For the Foes
  • Jillian Tate and Lauren Foster scored the two LVC goals.

  • Lebanon Valley had a 15-8 advantage in shots
  • The Flying Dutchmen also had a 7-2 edge in penalty corners.
