Men's Basketball Falls at Muhlenberg

Allentown, PA (November 22, 2025) - The DeSales University men's basketball team shot 30.6 percent in a 62-59 loss at local rival Muhlenberg College in non-conference action on Saturday evening.

The Basics

  • The loss snaps a four-game win streak for the Bulldogs in the series as Muhlenberg improves to 28-25 in the all-time series.

How it Happened
  • This game was marred by 53 total fouls in the game as the two teams combined to shoot 61 free throws.
  • DSU trailed early but chipped away at the deficit and took a 15-14 lead mid-way thru the first-half on a layup from sophomore Jayden Thomas.
  • The two teams went back-and-forth over the final 10 minutes before senior Chris Edwards hit a layup at the halftime buzzer tying the score at 31.
  • The Mules went up five to open the second-half and continued to lead by three before a triple from senior Ryan Glassmacher tied the score at 42 with 10:09 left.
  • It remained tied at 48 with 5:33 to go before Muhlenberg led 55-51 with 2:43 left.
  • A jumper from sophomore Luke Keppel cut the margin in half and Thomas made 1-of-2 freebies to make it 55-54 with 1:18 remaining.
  • Muhlenberg got a lay-up out of the press after a timeout to regain a three-point lead and DeSales came up empty on its next possession.
  • The Mules hit 4-for-4 from the line and led by six with 13 seconds left.
  • A layup from sophomore Ty MIshock made it a four-point game and after one free throw from the Mules Glassmacher scored with 1.9 seconds left.
  • Muhlenberg turned the ball over and DSU had a chance to tie with 1.2 seconds left but a three at the buzzer from Thomas was off the back iron as the Mules escaped with the three-point win.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Thomas led all scorers with 16 points, hitting 12-of-14 from the free throw line.
  • Edwards had a career-high 16 points off the bench, adding six rebounds.
  • Keppel added 11 points and Glassmacher finished with 10 points.
For the Foes
  • Jack Woodard had 15 points.
  • Peter Stanton-Shepherd also reached double figures with 11 points.
Inside the Box Score
  • The Bulldogs were 25-for-31 (80.8 percent) and the Mules were 20-30 (66.7 percent) from the charity stripe.
