Brendan Boyle and sophomore
Jayden Thomas combined for 54 points and 16 rebounds leading the DeSales University men's basketball team past Widener University, 75-70, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon in Billera Hall.

- DeSales snaps a two-game losing streak in the series with the Pride and even the all-time series at six wins apiece.
How it Happened
- DeSales jumped out of the gates opening up a 12-0 lead as the Pride didn't score its first point until the 14:03 mark of the first-half.
- Widener chipped away at the deficit and eventually took a one-point lead, (17-16), at the 8:46 mark.
- The rest of the first-half was back-and-forth with the Bulldogs finishing the half on a 6-0 run to take a 33-28 lead.
- Widener chipped away again at the deficit, taking a three point lead (47-44), with 12:22 left in the game.
- Tied at 48, Boyle had a three-point play and a three-pointer on the next possession around a Pride bucket giving DSU a 54-50 lead.
- The Bulldogs lead remained between one and four points the rest of the way and was 710-70 with 55 ticks left before Thomas hit two free throws with 33 seconds left, the Bulldogs got a stop and Boyle hit 2-of-4 from the charity stripe down the stretch to post the final tally.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Boyle posted a career-high 28 points, 10 more than his previous career-high, and 11 rebounds, six more than his previous career-high in the win.
- He shot 7-for-11 from outside the arc, one make short of tying the single-game record.
- Thomas added 26 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
For the Foes
- Namisse Musonge totaled 16 points off the bench.
- Dylan Schlatter had 13 points and Kori Segich added 12 points.
- TJ Bryson finished with 11 points.
Inside the Box Score
- DSU had a terrific shooting afternoon hitting 58.5 percent from the field and was 9-for-18 from outside the arc.
- DeSales also continued to thrive at the foul line shooting 81.8 percent (18-for-22).
