Slow Start Dooms Women's Basketball in 69-60 Loss to Arcadia

Center Valley, PA (February 1, 2025) - Arcadia University gott off to a quick start hitting nine first-half 3's and the DeSales University women's basketball team was unable to overcome falling to Arcadia University, 69-60, in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon in Billera Hall.

  • Arcadia snaps a 13-game losing streak to the Bulldogs and win for the first time in Billera Hall, a span of 17 games.
  • DeSales is now 28-2 all-time vs. the Knights.
How it Happened
  • Trailing 3-2 lead early, the Knights finished the first quarter on a 21-7 run, hitting seven three-pointers to take a 24-9 lead.
  • The hot shooting continued into the second quarter hitting two more 3's to start the second quarter giving AU nine straight three-pointers before they made a two-point basket as the lead grew to 26 points (48-22) at the half.
  • It was a back-and-forth third quarter in which Arcadia extended its lead to 28 points on another three to end the period.
  • The fourth quarter was all Bulldogs as they caught fire out-scoring the Knights, 27-8, to get within nine points on the final scoreboard.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • First-year Aubrey Pollard led the Bulldogs with a season-high 20 points, adding eight rebounds.
  • Senior Morgan Sterner had 13 points and also grabbed eight boards.
  • Junior Mikaili Donmoyer finished with 11 points.
For the Foes
  • Scarlett Glasser-Nehls led the Knights with 23 points, hitting six three-pointers.
  • Hanna Rhoades had 15 points, all on three-pointers.
  • Delaney Bell finished with 12 points and nine boards.
