Women's Lacrosse Extends Winning Streak to Seven Games in 16-6 Win over Elizabethtown

Center Valley, PA (March 19, 2025) - The DeSales University women's lacrosse team extended its winning streak to seven straight to start the season in a win over Elizabethtown College, 16-6, in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

  • Final Score: DeSales - 16, Elizabethtown - 6
  • Records: DeSales (7-0 overall); Elizabethtown (5-2 overall)
  • The Bulldogs improve to 2-0 all-time vs. the Blue Jays.
  • DeSales extends its school record winning streak to seven games and it also marks the first they have started a season with seven straight wins. 
How it Happened
  • An evenly matched first quarter saw both teams combine for seven goals but the Bulldogs held a 4-3 lead after 15 minutes of play. Junior Danielle Sieja led DSU with two goals in the quarter. 
  • Junior Bridey Lawler scored just 37 seconds into the second quarter to give DSU a two-goal lead (5-3).
  • DeSales scored two goals with under a minute remaining in the first half on goals from Sieja and Lawler to give the Bulldogs a 7-4 lead into the halftime break.
  • DSU dominated the third quarter outscoring the Blue Jays 6-1 as the lead swelled up to 13-5 through three quarters. Juniors Christina DiGuglielmo (1g, 2a), Emma Williamson (2g), and Hailey Linebaugh (2g) led DeSales in scoring in the third. 
  • The Bulldogs cruised in the final quarter as the lead grew to as much as 11 before Elizabethtown provided the final tally. 
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Linebaugh led the scoring attack with four goals and three assists for a team-high seven points. 
  • Lawler (3g, 1a) and DiGuglielmo (2g, 2a) each had four points in the win. 
  • Sieja, Williamson, and senior Meagan Landers each scored two goals. 
  • Senior Jess Brey won a team-high seven draw controls. 
For the Foes
  • Ella Scholes and Abby Bach led the Blue Jays each scoring two goals in the loss. 
  • Rachel Murphy made 13 saves in goal for Elizabethtown. 
Inside the Box Score
  • DeSales out-shot Elizabethtwon, 38-12, and had a 26-16 edge in ground balls.
  • DSU won 14-of-26 draw controls and was 19-of-22 on clears.
