Annville, PA (May 2, 2025) - The DeSales University softball team stayed alive with a 3-2 win over Stevens but was elimiinated from the MAC Freedom postseason tournament after a 2-0 loss to Misericordia University on Friday afternoon and day two of the MAC Freedom softball tournament.
Game One (W/3-2)
The Bulldogs stayed alive in the tournament with a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Stevens in the first game of the day.Â
After falling behind 1-0 in the first inning, DSU took a 2-1 lead in the fifth on a sacrifice fly from seniorÂ
Madison Kelly and RBI single from sophomoreÂ
Kiara Castera.
Stevens tied the score at two in the bottom of the fifth and neither team scored in the sixth.

Abigayle Freideman singled to leadoff the seventh and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt from first-yearÂ

Ava Goodman knocked in Freideman with a sacrifice fly to left field giving DSU a 3-2 lead.

Rachel Lowry did the rest working around an error and single to strand runners at second and third, recording her 300th career strikeout to end the game.
Lowry earned her 12th win of the season with three scoreless innings of relief. She became just the third player in team history to record 300 K's in a career. SophomoreÂ
Paige Hromin and Castera each had two hits in the win.
Game Two (L/0-2)
A scoreless game into the third inning saw the Cougars score twice to take a 2-0 lead.
DSU loaded the bases in the third with two outs but were unable to score and had two runners on in the sixth but were unable to push across a run.
The Bulldogs had just three hits in game two.

Riley Long took the loss allowing two runs over three innings of work.
The Bulldogs finish the season with a 17-20 overall record.
