Center Valley, PA (August 29, 2025) - The DeSales University volleyball team opened the 2025 season with a 3-0 loss to local rival Muhlenberg College in the opening game of the Bulldogs tournament on Friday evening in Billera Hall.

All three sets were tight as the Bulldogs fell 25-21, 25-18, 25-18.  DSU fell behind 5-1 in the first set and rallied to 21-19 before the Mules took control.  The Bulldogs led 3-0 in the second set and the match was tied at 11 before five straight points put Muhlenberg in control.  DSU got within one at 19-18, but four straight points put the match out of reach and Muhlenberg led the entire way in the third set.

Sophomore Maddie Sandt, sophomore Allison Reimer, and senior Joy Kindall each had five kills to lead the attack.  Sophomore Amanda Maroney led the defense with 11 digs.  Reimer and Kindall each had three blocks in the loss.

The Bulldogs are back at it tomorrow hosting Rutgers-Camden and Eastern in day two of the tournament.
