The only other meeting between the Spartans and the Bulldogs took place in 2011, where DeSales took home the 1-0 victory, after playing York College (Pa.) at Christopher Newport University.

York was the first on the board, with a goal from Aidan Hall just five minutes into the game. Three minutes later, goalkeeper Colin Hojnowski saved a corner kick from going in, but ten seconds after the corner kick, Matt Martin found the back of the net for another Spartan goal. During the tenth minute of the game, sophomore Jacob Stewart took the ball up the left side of the field, and hit the upper right corner of the net, above the goalkeeper's head for the first Bulldog goal of the game. With just ten minutes left in the half, Gabe Trexler added the third to the board for York College, ending the half 3-1.

The Bulldogs had a strong defensive presence during the second half of the game, not allowing any goals. 64 minutes into the game, after some action in front of the Spartans net, Osmar Ferre met the loose ball and sent it to the back of the net to bring the Bulldogs within one. Both teams had a strong final 25 minutes of play, with strong defenses, ending the game 3-2.

Bulldog goalkeepers Hojnowski had two saves in the first half of play, and Ryan Foley had one save during the second half of play. JohnPaul Mazza led DeSales in shots (4) and shots on goal (2).
