Mike Hooker pitched a complete-game allowing just one run leading the DeSales University baseball team past Arcadia University, 4-1, in MAC Freedom action on Thursday afternoon.
DeSales took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI single from first-year
Kevin Brace and led 3-0 after two innings of play, taking advantage of a few Knight errors in the second inning.
Arcadia got on the board in the sixth stringing together two hits in the inning but the Bulldogs got that run back on an RBI single from senior
JT Anderosky in the bottom half of the inning.
Hooker did the rest tossing his second complete-game of the season and the sixth of his career to improve to 4-1 on the year. He had a career-high tying nine strikeouts and retired the side in order four times during the game.
Anderosky finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs to lead the offense.
The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday when they travel to Arcadia University for games two and three of the weekend series beginning at Noon.
