Edwardsville, PA (April 28, 2026) - The DeSales University baseball team finished up the regular season with a 6-4 win at Wilkes University to extend its winning streak to six straight games.
DSU finishes the regular season with a 29-11 overall record, tying the win total in 2018, and now just one win shy of the first 30-win season since 2013.
DSU took a 1-0 lead on a double steal in the top of the second inning and led 4-1 after scoring three times in the third after a two-run double from graduate studentÂ
Owen Fischl and RBI single from sophomoreÂ
Jacob Rivera.
Fischl added a solo homer in the fifth and seniorÂ
Shane Anhalty had an RBI double in the sixth to make it 6-2.
JuniorÂ
Michael Matthews earned the win with three strong innings, striking out three.
Fischl finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs. SeniorÂ
John Rorick returned to the lineup and had two hits.
DSU returns to action on Friday when they host Stevens in the first game in a MAC Freedom postseason semifinal series with first pitch set for 4:30 pm.
