Men's Lacrosse Falls to Arcadia University In MAC Freedom Semifinals

CENTER VALLEY, PA (April 29, 2026) -- The DeSales University men's lacrosse team fell to the Arcadia University Knights, 16-9, in the MAC Freedom semi-finals on Wednesday evening. 

The Basics  

  • Final Score: DeSales – 9, Arcadia – 16 

  • Records: DeSales (8-10 overall, 5-2 MAC Freedom), Arcadia (12-6 overall, 5-2 MAC Freedom) 

How it Happened 

  • Arcadia was the first on the board in the first period, goalkeeper AJ Ardizone, stayed strong the entire first, only allowing three goals the entire period, ending the first 3-0.  

  • DeSales got on the board early in the second, with a goal from Matt Baselice and an assist Patch Day, ending the period, 11-1.  

  • The Bulldogs came out of the half strong, with a goal from Jake Hurd, assisted by Seth Young just two minutes into the period. Ten seconds after te first goal of the period, Colin Getz scored another for the Bulldogs assisted by senior Taylor Wikert.  

  • The Bulldogs then went on a four goal scoring streak, cutting into the Knights lead, with goals from, TJ Kearns, Day, and two from Hurd.  

  • Arcadia snuck three more in, ending the third 14-7.  

  • DeSales added another man-up goal, from Kearns, assisted by Getz just two minutes in the fourth period.  

  • The Bulldogs last goal of the evening was scored with four minutes left in the game, scored by Blake Finnegan, assisted by Kearns, ending the game 16-9.  

Top Bulldog Performers  

  • Kearns led the team in points with five from two goals and three assists, he also contributed two ground balls and one cause turnover on the evening.  

  • Wikert led the defense, ending the evening with one assist, two ground balls and two cause turnovers.  

  • Ardizone was excellent in the crease with 17 saves in the evening.  

For the Foes  

  • Dylan Garber finished the game with one goal and three assists for four points.  

  • TJ Shillingford led the Knights defense with two ground balls and three cause turnovers.  

Inside the Box Score  

  • The Bulldogs went 18-for-20 on the clear, compared to the Knights 18-for-23 on the clear.  

  • Arcadia took the 33-16 majority of shots on goal, but DeSales took the 17-7 majority on saves.
