Baseball Season Ends After Dropping Two on Day Two of NCAA Regional Tournament

Center Valley, PA (May 16, 2026) - The DeSales University baseball team saw its storybook season end dropping two games on day two of the NCAA Regional hosted by the Bulldogs at Weiland Park on Saturday afternoon/evening.

The Bulldogs finish the year with a 34-14 record, falling one win shy of tying the school-record of 35 wins.  DSU won its ninth MAC Freedom Championship and made its first trip to the NCAA Tournament since the 2008 season.

Game One Saturday (L/7-10) vs. Salve Regina
The Seahawks got out to a quick start scoring once in the first inning and seven times in the second inning to take an 8-0 lead.

First-year Dominic Berretta got the Bulldogs on the board with a two-run blast in the fourth and an RBI ground out from sophomore Jacob Rivera made it 8-3 in the sixth.

The Seahawks added two more runs in the sixth to take a 10-3 lead but the Bulldogs refused to go away.

DSU scored twice in the seventh to cut the margin down to five after a Salve Regina error and RBI ground out from graduate student Owen Fischl.

It became 10-6 in the eighth after senior John Rorick drew a bases loaded walk and the Bulldogs had the bases loaded down three with two outs in the ninth before the rally was thwarted sending DeSales to the loser's bracket in the regional tournament.

Senior JT Anderosky, first-year Kevin Brace, Berretta, and Rorick all had two hits in the loss as the Bulldogs out-hit Salve Regina, 13-12, but left 10 men on-base.

Game Two Saturday (L/5-11) vs. Ramapo
DSU took a 1-0 lead in this one after junior Jack Sague singled and scored on a throwing error by the Roadrunners in the second inning.

Ramapo countered with three runs in the third after a misplay in the field by the Bulldogs.

The Ramapo lead swelled to 10-1 after the Roadrunners scored four times in the fifth and three times in the sixth

DeSales kept clawing back scoring twice in the sixth and once in the eighth but left the bases loaded in the eighth and one again left too many men on-base in the game (14) running out of outs to fall 11-5 and being eliminated from the tournament.

Sophomore Will Haman pitched very well in relief allowing just two hits and a run over four innings, striking out five.

Sophomore Jacob Rivera had two hits and two RBIs and junior Owen Yoder added two hits and scored twice.
