Women's Lacrosse Falls at Stevens in MAC Freedom Title Game

HOBOKEN, NJ (May 2, 2026) -- The DeSales University women's lacrosse team fell to the Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks 25-8 on Saturday afternoon, in the MAC Freedom playoff finals.  

The Basics 
 
  • Finals Score: DeSales -  , Stevens -  
  • Records: DeSales (13-4 overall, 6-2 MAC Freedom), Stevens (15-4, 8-0 MAC Freedom) 
  • This is the first time that the Bulldogs have made it to the MAC Freedom finals in program history.  
How it Happened  
  • Stevens stared out the game strong with three goals, DeSales responded with one of their own scored by Senior Bridey Lawler, and assisted by Hailey Linebaugh.  
  • DeSales snuck another one in during the first, scored by first-year Olivia Costa, assisted by fellow first-year Mulroony, ending the first 12-3.  
  • The Bulldogs were the first on the board in the second, with an unassisted goal from Costa, just four minutes into the period. Costa tapped in another just four minutes later, assisted by senior Emma Williamson.  
  • DeSales finished the three goal scoring streak with a free-position goal from Costa, to cut into the Ducks lead.  
  • Stevens responded with six of their own, closing out the second 19-6.  
  • Coming out of the half, the Bulldogs held the Ducks to just four goals during the third period, ending 23-6.  
  • Five minutes into final quarter, senior Christina DiGuglielmo, scored an unassisted goal for DSU.  
  • The Ducks scored two more goals, before the Bulldogs came back with one final free position goal from DiGuglielmo, in the last six seconds of the game, ending 25-8. 
Top Bulldog Performers  
  • Costa led the team in points with four from four goals, right behind her was Mulroony with two points from one goal and one assist, she also contributed one draw control on the afternoon.  
  • Cami Beetel led the team in cause turnovers with three, and also contributed one ground ball.  
  • Williamson led the team in ground balls with four, she also contributed one draw control and one cause turnover and led the team in assists with two on the afternoon. 
For the Foes  
  • Alina Friz led the team in points with nine from six goals and three assists.  
  • Stefanie Sellitto led the team in draw controls with 19, she also contributed three ground balls, one cause turnover, three goals and three assists.  
Inside the Box Score  
  • Stevens took the slim 16-15 majority on ground balls on the afternoon.  
  • DeSales ended the afternoon with seven saves, compared to Stevens five saves.  
  • DeSales and Stevens were very close on cause turnovers with the Ducks taking the small 9-8 lead.
