Kutztown, PA (September 12, 2026) - The DeSales University golf team posted a two-day team score of 632 to take home fourth place out of 14 teams at the Berkleigh Challenge held at Berkleigh Golf Club on Friday and Saturday.

DSU shot a 319 on day one to sit in fifth place and improved its finish by one spot with day two score of 313.

Sophomore Matthew Smith was the Bulldogs top finisher in a tie for 18th with a two-day total of 158, shooting an 82 on day one and a 76 on day two. He made four birdies in his two rounds, including three on day one.

Junior Peter McGinley and first-year Mason Rush each placed T-20 with two day total of 159. McGinley shot a 76-83 with one birdie in round one and Rush posted scores of 81 and 78, making two birdies on day two.

Rounding out the Bulldogs top four was first-year Isaac Mattern in a tie for 27th with a two day total of 160, firing back-to-back rounds of 80. He made birdie on #16 in both rounds.

DSU is back in action on September 28th competing at the Moravian University Weyhill Classic.
