DeSales University Athletics

Aston, PA (September 12, 2026) - The DeSales University volleyball team stayed unbeaten on the season taking down Widener University and Neumann University on day two of the Neumann University Tournament.

This is the first 7-0 start to a season since 1995 when they Bulldogs opened the year 9-0.  DSU has won six of its first seven matches in three sets.  Sophomore Alexis Hoyer was named to the All-Tournament Team totaling 29 kills and five blocks, hitting .362 over the weekend.

Match #1 vs. Widener, 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-17)
The Bulldogs dominated in the win over the Pride out-hitting Widener, .363 to .096 and adding eight blocks as compared to none for WU.

Hoyer led the attack with 11 kills, hitting .456. Senior Jocelyn Castro had six kills, hitting .600, and added four blocks and junior Allison Reimer finished with eight kills, hitting .381, adding 11 digs.

Junior Ashlyn Dinan had 14 assists and 13 digs, senior Bryanna Purisima had 11 assists, and junior Kylie Campbell finished with 15 digs. 

Match #2 vs. Neumann, 3-1 (21-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-16)
After dropping the first set, its first set loss of the season the Bulldogs rallied to win the next three to take the match.  Leading by just one (19-18) in the second set, DSU scored six of the next eight points to close out the win.  Tied at 22 late in the third set, the Bulldogs scored the next three points to win 25-22, and DSU led nearly the entire way in the fourth set to close out the match.

Junior Allison Reimer led the attack with 14 kills, hitting .297, adding 18 digs and three blocks. Junior Brooke Signorella had 10 kills, hitting .348, sophomore Alexis Hoyer finished with eight kills, hitting .240, and sophomore Samantha Buff totaled seven kills, hitting .385, with three blocks.

Senior Jocelyn Castro had four blocks.  Juniors Kylie Campbell and Grace Pfaff each had double digit digs with Campbell totaling 22 and Pfaff 11.  Senior Bryanna Purisima had 17 assists and junior Ashlyn Dinan finished with 19 assists in the win.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Tuesday traveling to Lycoming College for a non-conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
