Biography

Entering the 2014 Season:  Mauro enters his senior season ranked tied for 26th in games played (113), first in batting average (.411), 24th in runs scored (97), tied for 12th in hits (162), third in doubles (48), tied for seventh in home runs (17), tied for sixth in RBIs (132), fourth in slugging percentage (.662), fifth in on-base percentage (.476), and 15th in putouts (418).

2013 Season:  Named a D3baseball.com Pre-season First-Team All-American…named to ABCA/Rawlings All-Region First-Team and ABCA/Rawlings All-American First-Team…named a D3baseball.com All-Region First-Team and D3baseball.com All-American Third-Team…named to ECAC South Region First-Team…named to All-Freedom Conference First-Team…named DeSales University Male Athlete of the Year…named Freedom Conference Player of the Week, NCBWA National Hitter of the Week and D3Baseball.com Team of the Week once…appeared and started in 41-of-43 games…set school-records for batting average (.497), doubles (28), slugging percentage (.785), and on-base percentage (.568) in a season...led the nation in doubles per game…ranked second in the county in batting average…also led the team with 53 runs scored, 74 hits, five home runs, and 58 RBIs…struck out just eight times in 183 plate appearances…led team with 26 walks…recorded 29 multi-hit games…had a season-best 20-game hitting streak…went hitless in just six of 41 games played…had two four-hit games including wins over Schreiner University and King’s College…went 6-for-16 in the four Freedom Conference playoff games including five RBIs…hit two home runs in a win over King’s College at home…knocked in multi-RBIs 18 times.

2012 Season:  Appeared in 42 games, making 41 starts…named to All-Freedom Conference First-Team, D3baseball.com Mid-Atlantic Region Second-Team, ABCA All-Region First-Team, and ECAC South Region First-Team…led team with .407 batting average including a team-high 61 hits…scored 30 runs, roped 15 doubles and ranked second on the team with eight home runs and 44 RBIs…recorded a .667 slugging percentage and a .456 on-base percentage…had a team-high 17 multi-hit games…batted .471 with eight hits in the four Freedom Conference playoff games including four hits in win over Manhattanville College…knocked in five runs on three hits in a win over King’s College…had three four-RBI games including wins over Cardinal Stritch University, Delaware Valley College, and King’s College…was 7-for-13 with 10 RBIs in three games vs. King’s College…hit two home runs twice including a late season win over Manhattanville College…named to MAC Spring Academic Honor Roll.

2011 Season:  Appeared in 26 games, making 23 starts…batted .298 with four home runs and 29 RBIs…had a .500 slugging percentage…had six multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games…batted .600 off lefties…advanced runner to home 91.7 percent of the time when on third with less than two outs…batted .462 with two RBIs in the three Freedom Conference playoff games…named to All-Freedom Conference First-Team and MAC Spring Academic Honor Roll.

2010 Season:  Appeared in four games, making three starts during spring break trip before being lost for the remainder of the season with an injury…had two hits in 11 AB’s in four appearances including a 2-for-3 effort with three runs scored vs. Texas Lutheran University.

Personal/High School:  Son of Jeanne and Christopher Mauro…participated in baseball in high school…named All-League once…member of Dean’s List…actuarial science major with a minor in computer science.
