DeSales University Athletics

Hezel joined Coach Neiman’s staff as the pitching coach at the start of the 2017 season.  Hezel came to DeSales after serving as the Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Northampton Community College for five years. Northampton CC enjoyed tremendous success while Hezel was on staff recording multiple 25+ win seasons and region final four appearances. In addition to recruiting, Hezel's primarily role was as the Pitching Coach in which he helped tutor multiple All-Conference and All-Region selections.  In his final season with the team (2016) the staff finished the season ranked in the NJCAA DIII top eight in strikeouts, ERA, shutouts and batting average against. They also finished the year leading the NJCAA DIII in strikeouts per nine.
 
In the summer, Hezel also serves as the Pitching Coach for the Quakertown Blazers of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League.  The ACBL is a charter member of the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball (NACSB) and is partially funded by Major League Baseball.
 
Hezel competed two years for Lehigh University where he would win a Patriot League Championship prior to transferring and finishing his collegiate career at East Stroudsburg University.  He finished his senior season with a 6-1 record and a sub-4.00 earned run average.  He was also named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Team that same year.
 
Hezel graduated summa cum laude from East Stroudsburg University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management.
 
Coach Hezel currently resides in Allentown, PA with his wife-to-be Ashley.
