Coach Silk enters his 32nd season coaching boy’s and men’s basketball and his seventh year at DeSales University.

He hails from Central Bucks East High School where he coached for 22 years (1979-2000). He was an assistant coach at CB East for the first 12 years of his tenure and was promoted to head coach for his last 10 years. While a head coach at CB East, Silk led the team to eight winning seasons, one Suburban One League Championship, five second place finishes, and helped East qualify for the District I Tournament nine times.

In addition to coaching at CB East, Silk served as the coach of the freshman men’s basketball team and an assistant coach with the varsity team at West Chester University from 1974-76. Silk’s playing days were also at West Chester University where he played three years as a point guard for the Golden Rams. He was also an All-League soccer and basketball player at CB East before college.

He graduated from WCU in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education-Social Studies. Silk was hired as a Social Studies teacher in the Quakertown Community School District following graduation and has taught at QCHS for the last 27 years, while earning a Masters Equivalency Degree along the way.

Silk, who will primarily help with the development of the guards at DeSales University, resides in Buckingham, PA, with his wife, Mary Jane. He has two sons, 24-year old Matt and 20-year old Kevin, who is a junior at Boston College.
