Coaching at DeSales
Coach Goeller has guided the Bulldogs to the MAC Freedom postseason in four of her seven years on the sidelines and has led DeSales to four of its top five highest season win totals. DSU took home its first-ever MAC Freedom Championship in 2022 with a perfect regular season record and two more wins in the postseason tournament. The Bulldogs also advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in team history in 2022.
DeSales set a school-record for wins (15) in 2022, the third time under Goeller DSU has set a school-record for wins. Four of DSU’s six 10+ win season have come under Goeller.
Under Goeller, DeSales has seen 33 players earn All-MAC Freedom honors, 10 earn NFHCA Scholar of Distinction honors, three players earn Academic All-America Honors, and the only nine players in team history to earn NFHCA All-Region honors.
Prominent DeSales Graduates under Goeller
- Meryah Harding ’16 – Played one season under Goeller earning All-MAC Freedom First-Team honors. Finished career with 29 goals, 15 assists, and 73 career points.
- Kelly Meade ’17 – Played three seasons under Goeller earning All-MAC Freedom First-Team honors senior as a defender.
- Chelsea DeFrancisco ’18 – Earned All-MAC Freedom Second-Team honors twice as a defensive midfielder.
- Katarina Polyviou ’20 – 4x All-MAC Freedom earning HM honors as freshman, Second-Team honors as a sophomore and senior, and First-Team honors as a junior. Named to NFHCA Division III Senior game in 2019 and NFHCA All-Region in 2017.
- Kylie Honnick-Payne ’20 – 2x All-MAC Freedom earning First-Team honors as a sophomore and Second-Team honors as a junior. Named NFHCA Second-Team All-Region and All-ECAC First-Team in 2017.
- Christie Hansen ’20 – Named MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Year and First-Team in 2018. Named NFHCA First-Team All-Region, All-ECAC First-Team, and to Academic All-MAC Team in 2018.
- Madison Brader ’20 – 4x All-MAC Freedom including HM honors as a freshman and First-Team honors last three years of career. Named NFHCA All-Region First-Team, All-ECAC First-Team, and to Academic All-MAC Team in 2019.
- Alexa Rhodunda ’21 – Earned All-MAC Freedom Second-Team honors twice as a midfielder. 3x MAC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
- Olivia Witmer ’22 – 3x All-MAC Freedom Second-Team as a defender.
- Tyra Wingle ’23 – 3x All-MAC Freedom, twice named to First-Team. MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Year as a senior. 2x Academic All-MAC Team. 4x NFHCA Scholar of Distinction. 2x Academic All-District. Academic All-America Third-Team in 2021 and First-Team in 2022. 2x NFHCA All-Region (2nd-Team in 2021; 1st-Team in 2022). NCAA Post-graduate Scholarship Winner. MAC Senior Scholar-Athlete. NFHCA Division III Senior Game. All-ECAC Team in 2022.
Playing Career
Goeller had a stellar career as a four-year member of the field hockey team at Tufts University. She was voted as a co-captain and team MVP as a senior. Goeller was a two-time Longstreth/NFHCA All-Region player and was named All-NESCAC Second-Team in 2011. As a senior she was chosen to play in the prestigious NFHCA Senior All-Star Game.
As a team the Jumbos won the 2009 NESCAC Championship and participated in two national Final Fours, finishing as the national runners-up during Goeller’s freshman year in 2008.

Goeller (maiden name is Griffith) is originally from Wilmington, DE attending Tower Hill School. She is married to husband Will and have one son also named Will.
