DeSales University Athletics

Dr. Tom Gilligan joined the Bulldog golf staff in the Spring of 2010.  For six years Dr. Gilligan served as the head coach of the Palmerton Blue Bomber golf team. In that time, "in large part due to some exceptional athletes," Palmerton went from having not won a match in years to being a Colonial League power and a perennial presence in state competition.

At the conclusion of both the 2008 season and 2009 season Dr. Gilligan was selected as the Colonial League Coach of the Year.  In his last three seasons his teams won 42 and lost just 6 matches.  At the end of the 2008-09 school year, Dr. Gilligan retired from his teaching job in Palmerton.

His connection with DeSales University goes back three decades.  He has been and still is an adjunct member of the DeSales faculty teaching in the Access program.
