Jon Showers joined Coach Coval’s staff at the start of the 2020-21 season. He is a 2011 graduate of Penn State University earning a Bachelor of Arts in history, while also earning his Masters of Education from Millersville University in 2013.
Showers spent the five seasons previous to joining DeSales as an assistant coach with former Bulldogs’ assistant Matt Hunter at York College from 2015-20. He has also had coaching stints at Millersville University (2 years) and Marywood University (2 years). While at York, the Spartans won two CAC Tournament championships and advanced to the NCAA Tournament three times.
Showers is also very active with AAU basketball previously coaching with the York Ballers and JBHoops and currently works with the LL Runnin Rebels out of Allentown, PA.
He enjoyed a very successful high school career at York Catholic winning a District III Championship and playing in the PA State tournament all four years helping lead YC to four consecutive Eastern State Tournament semifinal berths. He started 120 games for the Irish posting a 99-31 record in his four years. Showers finished with 1,290 career points.
After York Catholic, Showers played at Emerson College in Boston before earning his degree at Penn State University.
