Steven Aukers

Dr. Steven M. Aukers, who returns for his fourth season on the Bulldogs sideline, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Business and Assistant Lacrosse Coach at DeSales.  Aukers is also a strategic management consultant working with C-Suite executives and boards of public and private companies. 
 
Aukers played six seasons for the Indiana University Lacrosse Club (MCLA Div 1) where in his senior year he helped lead the team deep into the Big Ten Tournament to a third place finish narrowly missing the championship game.  The core of his tenure was as a middie but he also played defense, attack and faced off.  Aukers led as the President of the team and head coach for a number of seasons after the head coach retired.  He also served as President of the Club Sports Federation with more than 40 teams, four of which eventually moved up to Division 1 status.  Most recently, Aukers coached for the Collegeville Cougars and St Eleanor teams in Collegeville, PA in both head and assistant coach capacities.
 
Prior to joining DeSales, Aukers was CEO of a private research and consulting firm where he won Top50 CEO award from SmartCEO Magazine and successfully shepherded the firm through the recession while repositioning the company, launching a new division, and developing a new go to market strategy changing the industry.  He was an executive on the North American Operating Board of TNS and led the corporate turnaround efforts as the head of strategy after previously leading business development, client services, M&A, and a joint venture with ESPN.  He served as an executive for Deutsche Post DHL leading business intelligence and customer strategy and helped drive the U.S. turnaround.  Previously, Aukers led as the chief executive of a healthcare non-profit and was a professor and consulting specialist at Texas A&M University and Assistant Director of a consulting institute at Indiana University. 
 
Aukers teaches and conducts research in marketing and management with a focus on leadership, strategy, sales, marketing and consumer behavior and holds a B.A. in Telecommunications and Marketing, M.S. in Sport and Recreation Management and Ph.D. in Human Performance from Indiana University.
