Hickey joined both the men's and women's soccer coaching staffs at the start of the 2024 season to coach the goalkeepers. He graduated from Georgian Court University in May, 2021 with a degree in exercise science, sport, and kinesiology and earned his MBA from DeSales University in December, 2023. Hickey spent three seasons as the graduate assistant coach with the DeSales men's soccer team while he was earning his MBA.
Originally from Dublin, Ireland, he was four-starter at goalkeeper for Georgian Court University earning CACC All-Conference First-Team honors as a senior, while also being named a team captain.
While in Ireland, Hickey played for Drogheda United's U19 academy team before signing and earning valuable experience with their SSE Airtricity Premier Division First-Team in the top flight of Ireland's Soccer leagues.
