Melissa Parker

Parker joined the softball staff in the fall of 2018 as the graduate assistant coach.  She is a 2016 graduate of Misericordia University, earning a bachelors degree in psychology with a minor in gerontology.  She was two-time member of the Dean’s List, member of Psi Chi Psychology International Society (2014-16), was a psychology mentor, and held positions as secretary and vice president of the psychology club.
 
While at Misericordia, Parker was a four-year member of the softball team as a first baseman earning All-Conference honors in 2016 as a senior.  She holds record in home runs (24) in a career and single season, hitting 10 round trippers in both 2015 and 2016.  She also has the most walks in a season (57 – 2016) and currently holds the best fielding percentage at .991.  Parker finished her career batting .342 with 40 RBIs, a .633 slugging percentage, and a .459 on-base percentage.
 
Prior to college, Parker was a standout at Eastern High School leading Eastern to a state championship in 2012, two Group IV Championships, and two Conference Championships.
 
Parker will be pursuing her Master’s in Education while at DeSales.
