Amy Yencho

Yencho joins Coach Richter’s staff for her fourth season as an assistant coach.  She is a 2004 graduate of DeSales with a degree in biology and a minor in psychology.
 
Yencho was a four-year starter for Coach Richter from 2000-04 finishing her career with 1,341 career points which currently ranks ninth all-time.  She was named the MAC Freedom Rookie of the Year in 2001 and was named to the All-MAC Freedom Second-Team twice in 2002 and 2004.  She helped the Bulldogs win two ECAC South Region Tournament titles earning ECAC South Region Tournament Most Valuable Player honors once.
 
In addition to ranking ninth all-time in points scored she is also ranked among the all-time leaders in field goals made (492 – 10th), three-pointers made (124 (5th), three-point shooting percentage (.328 – T-9th), free throw percentage (.749 – 13th), assists (290 – 9th), and steals (214 – 10th).  Yencho was also named to the MAC Winter Academic Honor Roll three times.
 
Yencho started her coaching career at Liberty High School where she was the freshman team coach from 2005-08, before serving as the JV coach from 2008-10, and then acting as the head varsity coach for three years from 2010-13 posting an overall record of 45-33 and leading Liberty to the District XI playoffs all three years and the state playoffs twice.
 
As a player at Liberty HS she totaled 1,071 career points as a three-year varsity starter being named First-Team All-Express-Times and All-Morning Call and being named the MVP of the Mountain Valley Conference once.  She led the MVC in scoring as a junior (16.3 PPG), helped Liberty to a District title in 2000, and was named the Liberty HS Female Athlete of the Year once.
 
Yencho resides in Bethlehem, PA and works as a chemist at Puritan Products.
